Pastor Mike Hudgins has served in full-time ministry for over 30 years. He was ordained in 1979 after following the call of the Lord to leave medical school and become assistant pastor in his local church. After four years of ministry there, Mike and his wife, Janiece, were sent to Hawaii to plant a new church on Oahu, and were then sent to Pasadena, California, to oversee ministries in Southeast Asia for a missions agency, New Covenant Commission.    While in Pasadena, Pastor Mike studied at Fuller Theological Seminary and the U.S. Center for World Mission, and spent a great deal of time traveling and preaching in Asia. During this time he became acquainted with John Wimber (founder of the Association of Vineyard Churches) and attended Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Anaheim.

After moving to the Saddleback Valley in 1986, the Hudgins' family made Mission Viejo Vineyard their home church. Pastor Mike became part of the staff at Mission Viejo Vineyard in 1990, where he served as an assistant pastor to Ed Piorek until 1997. In November 1997, Mission Viejo Vineyard formally sent Mike and Janiece to start Vineyard Community Church in Laguna Niguel, California.

Mike and Janiece have four adult children. John is on staff at VCC. He is married to his high-school sweetheart, Amanda and has three children, Lainey (2008), Brooke (2011), and Joel (2012). David works in the Mercy Warehouse connected to VCC. Michelle works as an accountant at KPMG.
Stephen is in the US Marine Corps.

A graduate of Oral Roberts University, Janiece taught business courses in public schools, and later worked as an office manager and personal assistant for the president of several companies related to the oil industry. While a stay-at-home mom, she home-schooled and also taught piano for 17 years, along with being very active in worship and women’s ministries.

Currently, Janiece participates in the VCC Worship Ministry in various roles, leads the VCC Women’s Ministry and Newcomers Ministry, leads a weekly prayer fellowship on Friday mornings, along with providing administrative assistance for her husband, Mike, Senior Pastor.

Janiece and Mike have been married since May 3, 1977, and the Lord blessed them with four beautiful children: John (1981), David (1984), Michelle (1986) and Stephen (1992). John is married to Amanda, and they have two little girls, Lainey (2009) and Brooke (2011), and one son, Joel (2012). Janiece’s Dad was a pastor and very committed to missions. Her brother, David Shibley, is the founder of Global Advance missions agency, and she and Mike have been pastoring together for over 30 years.

I find my joy in…
My husband and family.
The beauty of God in people.
The beauty of God in everyday life.
Watching people experience God’s presence — maybe for the first time.
Helping hearts become strong through the transforming power of God’s love
Encountering and releasing the favor of the Heavenly Father for myself, for my church family, and for my world.

Kent and Cathy Larson have been at VCC since the fall of 1999 and on pastoral staff since January 2001. They are especially grateful to be at VCC because of the atmosphere of freedom for the Holy Spirit to minister, our value of intimacy with God and the growing "culture of honor" among our church community, as well as our heart for the nations.

Their primary responsibilities at VCC include all prayer and pastoral-care ministries. Kent oversees HOPE (House of Prayer for Everyone), teaches the "Intimacy With God" track in KSOM (Kingdom School of Ministry), and is working to encourage the release of prophetic art and worship. He and Cathy also oversee pastoral counseling and inner healing. They are available for prayer counseling appointments throughout the week. Cathy has also managed Vineyard Bookstore at VCC since 2003. They also love to participate in international ministry whenever possible, especially in Israel and Southeast Asia.

Kent was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Cathy in Southern California. Kent graduated from Wheaton College in ‘72 and Cathy attended Westmont College, graduating from Cal State Long Beach in ’77. They met in Pasadena while Kent was at Fuller Seminary (MDiv '76). They were married in Pasadena in 1978. Kent worked as a youth pastor for 5 years in Denver and was ordained in 1979. Kent and Cathy spent time doing evangelism and discipleship in India, Japan and to Hindu and Muslim immigrants in England for two years. In 1984 they moved to Southern California to be a part of the Anaheim Vineyard under John Wimber. They have five children: Peter would now be 30 {graduated to heaven in 2000}, Tiffany is 28 and on staff at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Jonathan is 21 at UCSD studying computer science, Joshua is 19 at OCC studying music and Jordan is 16, surfer and artist extraordinaire. Over their 33 years of marriage they have lived in Denver, England, and now love living in Costa Mesa for 20 of their 27 years in Southern California.

John Hudgins is the Director of the Mercy Warehouse, and is VCC's main worship leader.

John has served in ministry since 2006. He has been on staff at VCC since 2011, was the worship leader and finance director at Palm Vista Baptist Church in Surprise, Arizona for two years prior to that, and served as the worship leader of The Life Church in Surprise, Arizona before that.

John graduated from Stanford University ('03) with a degree in Economics. He was also an All American baseball player for Stanford in 2003. After college, John played professional baseball for 7 years in the minor leagues with the Texas Rangers and San Diego Padres organizations.

John and his wife, Amanda, have two daughters (Lainey and Brooke) and a son (Joel). They met at Mission Viejo High School and were a part of the youth group at VCC together.

Favorite Verses:
I like a lot of the 3:17s in the Bible.
In particular, I like 2 Corinthians 3:17, Colossians 3:17, and especially Zephaniah 3:17.

Bob has been at VCC since before VCC was VCC. He has been on staff since we launched in 1997, and pastors many areas of the church, including (but not limited to) missions, facilities, operations, and finances.

Lynn Miller gave her life to Christ 29 years ago and has been in the Vineyard ever since. Lynn is our Children’s Pastor and has led the children’s ministry at VCC since the church first started in 1997. Prior to coming on staff she was an elementary teacher in private and in public schools for 11 years--teaching 5th grade, 3rd grade and 2nd grade. Her passion is to see children enjoying their relationship with God and walking in the power of His love.

Lynn also serves in other areas of our church, as well. She supports the HOPE prayer community, teaches prayer and prophetic classes on Wednesday nights and leads in the prophetic community. From time to time she also teaches and leads a small group in our ministry to women.

Lynn is always up for playing games and she especially enjoys playing cards with her family. She loves watching a good moving, and playing with her dog, Misty, too. Hiking on the trails in Rancho Santa Margarita on her red scooter, worshipping on the guitar, and meeting a friend for coffee are her favorite things to do whenever she gets a chance.

Heidi serves as administrative staff in the VCC Finance Office. In addition, she leads various evangelistic outreaches, including the monthly outreach in Laguna Hills.

She describes her passion for ministry in this way; “The Father has so radically touched my life with his love – through His Son and by the Spirit – that I want to give away what I have received in any way the Lord wants to use me, be it in outreach, prayer, or baby sitting in the nursery."
